Decisions: Getting it Right

The hardest and most consequential moments in life is deciding what to do, where to go, what to leave behind, whom to spend time with and the list goes on. Deciding the next action of your life is very technical, as whatever you decide makes or destroys your life. We live in environments where our surroundings tend to decide what is right or wrong, who we should mingle with, how we should dress or look, what we should become or what should be termed as success.

Decisions creates your personality for life, what you decide to do, the choices you make at every point of your life, is what decides how life eventually turns out to be for you. When I was a teenager, I decided to leave behind all my science dreams and pursue the art and social sciences. I would fantasize about  becoming a medical doctor and all (I guess this used to be most children's dreams), but then I discovered that art was my life. Even though I dreamt of being in the science field, everything I did was pointing to a different direction. It was so difficult letting my dreams go, I put so much into consideration. Everything pointed to the fact that science was not made for me, although I was excelling in studies but it was far more beyond that. There was a connection to social science and even a stronger connection to arts. It then became clear and distinct, I knew that I had to explore a different direction. Now as I look back, I am grateful I made that decision.

You know, sometimes, the right decisions may not seem right in our own eyes, we have to look deeper, and search with all sincerity. We will find the truth and best actions, but that is what we must decide upon. Right decisions may be hard to make, you may look stupid while making them, people may even avoid you, it may be costly, you may temporarily be at loss, but in the long run you would be glad you did it. Right decisions could be painful, you may feel uncomfortable but it's going to be for a short while. The thing is when you're making the wrong decisions, if you still have a conscience, a part of you will call you to order. Wrong decisions may just be sweet and very pleasant, give it sometime, you'll come running again, looking for what is right, then you will say "I made a terrible mistake".

In every of life's journey, the right steps you choose will save your foot from hurting and lead you to a safe landing.
