IF I WOULD CALL IT A MADE DAY

She acted really obnoxious. Since she was oblivious of her actions I let it slide. In an obscure setting as my grandmother’s land where respect is not obsolete, I cannot but be more obsessed about her behaviour, because it has turned a routine.
In as much as I am obliged to her for helping me, I object to her obstinate refusal to kneel before the elders of my land. She termed it as ‘barbaric’ and she also said that she feels much discomfort in having to cope with our tradition.
Having great affection for her, I let the nonagenarian know, that this girl isn’t from our culture and that the following day, she would kneel before all the elders present, but grandma gave me a stern look, which meant she disapproved the girl of my dreams.
Do I go ahead with the marriage proposal? This question kept ringing in my head for months. It was my mother's wish before she   passed on, that my grandmother must approve of my marriage to any woman I intend to marry.
I remembered, two weeks ago, when Ena and I arrived from the U.S, and we headed straight to my village, she thought the place was fun, but soon the novelty wore off. Ena used to carry along her camera and take shots of the scenery. She thought it was an area of scenic beauty until she got so used to the place.
I was getting really worn out by her actions until mu uncle, septuagenarian who arrived from china, picked up special interest in her and he was one out of a million, who approved of our marriage. He had a soft spot for her and took it upon himself to educate her on our culture. That was when she started greeting the elders and even children.
One morning, she woke up and went to my grandmother`s room, she greeted in our local dialect, accompanied with the normal ritual of kneeling. My grandmother took Ena in her arms and blessed her. I walked in to see the scene; I knelt down in appraisal of Amadioha, because I could finally marry the woman of my dreams,
“Felix! Wakeup, is that how you intend doing you intend doing your chores?” The loud harsh tone of his mother`s voice woke him up from his beautiful sleep. He thought to himself, “it was a dream, and that witch called mother is still alive, my goodness! I travelled abroad and was even about marrying a beautiful woman”. Interrupting his thoughts, “you are still there right?” his disabled uncle, who could move around only using a wheeled chair shouted.
“Oh! That man who has never even crossed this village, gone to where? China? Felix stood up laughing. “This is how it happens every day. What an irony”.
“Felix!!!” that’s my mum shouting again.
